The Usual Suspects may be the most laid-back group at Houston Yacht Club. This disorganized group of mostly retired (not retarded) men meets for lunch in the HYC clubhouse on the first Wednesday of each month. There are no officers, no programs, no agenda, no committees, no speeches and no rules. They do nothing but eat and swap yarns.
The group began meeting a number of years ago at the suggestion of P/C Bob Middleton, but no one can remember when. They have no membership fees or dues or benefits. Everyone pays for his own lunch. There is no contact person, telephone number or e-mail address. The Usual Suspects appeal to no one and can think of no reason why anyone would want to join the group, but if you do, just call the Club office at (281) 471-1255 and make a reservation for lunch on the first Wednesday of each month. The Usual Suspects will welcome you to the group.
