Perched on the Western shore of Galveston Bay, the Houston Yacht Club offers its members a busy schedule of activities on the water and onshore. The oldest yacht club in Texas [see Our Heritage], HYC has a reputation for excellence in race management, and hosts two or three national or international regattas a year [see Racing]. It also offers a modern harbor, a spectacular view of the bay and a historic three-story clubhouse complete with a ballroom, dining room and guest rooms. [see Our Clubhouse]
HYC offers something for every age. Children and teenagers can race sailboats, celebrate Halloween and Easter on the grounds and hang out with their friends on weekends, all in a protected environment. Adults can dine with their friends, dance to a DJ or band in the clubhouse or party on the docks. The entire family can kayak, raft up in the cove north of our harbor or join other families on cruises to nearby destinations.
All this is closer than you think. You can be here in 30-40 minutes from almost anywhere in Houston. And once you get here, you’ll be on your boat and out on the bay in a few minutes. Wherever you live in the Houston-Galveston area, HYC is the place to easily find good times and good friends.
