At a Special Meeting of
the Board held Saturday, October 4th, a motion was passed that
temporarily suspends until further notice the collection of the Capital
Projects Assessment. Also, as you would expect, there will be no
billings for wet-slip rental nor dry-storage/storage lockers. At
least temporarily, dues will continue to be billed as normal while we
are negotiating with the insurance carriers regarding our business interruption
claims.
The Clubhouse will reopen for business on Friday, October 10th at 5:30
P.M. with a grand Post-Ike Happy Hour. All sorts of surprises are
planned for the evening so don't miss it. Food service also
resumes at that same time although for a few days buffet only service
will be provided as we work to get our operations back to normal.
The Officers and Trustees of the Club sincerely appreciate the attitude
and responsiveness of the members as we work through the issues wrought
by Hurricane Ike. I am particularly proud of the efforts of the
Mosquito Fleet who, on consecutive weekends, organized and provided for
the Shrimp Boil (attended by nearly 300) and the
"Wienerville" Happy Hour attended by approximately 150.
The "Skeeters" are a wonderful group and Carol and I are
proud to be part of them!
See ya' at the Bay!
John Nicholson, Commodore
